In tomorrow's class (9/27) we will workshop the rough drafts of our second essay (about misperception). The measure you must use at home and in tomorrow's class is the "Rough Draft Check List." Come to class with a completed rough draft. During you will notate the check list: For instance, the first three items are "Title," "Thesis," and "Organization." On the check list you will write down your title, your thesis statement, and any questions you have about the way your essay is ordered (do your paragraphs flow logically; does each topic sentence have solid evidence explaining and/or enriching its meaning).
After you complete this, you will complete a peer review (find a partner and exchange papers). You will read and critique your partner's paper using the same standards that you used on your own. Then, return the paper to your partner so that further corrections can be made.
We will review MLA formatting guidelines, which you must apply to your final draft. Use the following as a model to how your paper must look:
